Post COVID19 Return to Work Toolkit

Post COVID19 Return to Work Toolkit

In our latest Webinar, we were delighted to welcome Nick Pahl, CEO of the Society of Occupational Medicine and Marjory FIsh, Lecturer in Occupational Health at the Brunel University, London to explore the Society of Occupational Medicine’s post COVID19 Return to Work Toolkit, a fantastic collection of resources which I personally feel has not had the exposure some of the content deserves.

The toolkit has had input from several national organisations, including the CIPD, ACAS and MIND and is designed to help employers and occupational health professionals get the nation back to work, safely.  We were also keen to ensure our network were aware of some of the key risks and pitfalls associated with this and decided it was worthy of a feature.

Nick explained to us how the collaboration came about and some of the key took us through some of the resources,  explaining how they can support us in helping those of our people who need some extra focus right now such as those in vulnerable groups, those with carer responsibilities, colleagues who may have suffered a bereavement, have anxiety about returning to work or more serious mental health problems resulting from the pandemic.

We looked at how many employers had different segments of staff in very different places before Marjory walked us through some practical examples of risk assessments and establishing vulnerability.

Discussions with clients have highlighted to us that there remains a lot of apprehension around tackling the return to work and a degree of confusion around the various requirements and obligations.

To respond to this, we have taken the best of the toolkit and condensed it into a checklist to cover off the essentials, sample risk assessments and guidance for managing the more sensitive conversations you may need to have as you bring your teams back to work.  We are sharing this document for free within our network and you can access your copy by emailing us at contact@yourpeople.associates

To help support our network, who are mostly SME businesses, we have taken the best of the toolkit and and produced an easy to digest back to work resource pack to support you which we will send you a complimemtary copy of
