Building a winning team needn't be as painful as you think

Recently we spoke about mindset and how to achieve consistent performance from everyone on the team by targeting workplace wellbeing, mental health, and overall company mood.

Today we will focus on breaking down your People Plan into small steps, empowering your teams to deliver what’s necessary and removing any roadblocks that may lay ahead.

At this stage of the process, the most important things to focus on are:

  • Defining those small steps

  • Setting short time frames

Removing roadblocks that may arise by:

  • Reducing complexity & ambiguity, using simple to meet goals

  • Managing your team’s performance to ensure that everyone can meet their goals by ensuring that workload is fairly distributed

  • Any delays and support needed to get back on track is well planned for

Once you step out of the day to day running of your busy HR team to obtain clarity of where you need to head and when you break down a simple path to get there, you are already most of the way there.

You then need to evaluate your people, to understand if you have the right team, with the right level of capabilities and expertise to deliver.

Assessing whether employees need to up-skill or re-train and the potential need to bring in outside expertise to quickly fill in any gaps in your team. Once you have the right skills, pulling your team together will soon get your People Plan accomplished.

Rather than having already overworked employees, training on the go, making mistakes, getting demotivated, Your People Associates can help you clarify your objectives, simplify your tactical goals and remove any roadblocks along the way, as and when it is needed.

Here is our new services brochure outlining how we could help you

With the right level of support, you will be sure that your HR team is firing on all cylinders and offering the best support to the business. We will be getting to know your culture and seamlessly bolting on to your in-house team like a comfy pair of slippers.

We have been in your shoes, when Iain and Nicola started our journey in HR 20+ years ago, having worked in bluechips, startups and SMEs, we know your pain and what it is like to be firefighting. We also know what it's like to come out at the other end, having transformed employees into wining teams, and leading with strength, compassion and clarity.

Drop us an email or call call us and tell us what you are most worried about when it comes to your people and we promise to come back with some ideas.

We more than anyone, want you and your teams to thrive.

And if you are ready, take the next step and book a People Planning Session.
